Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein

Europe’s largest waterfall and Stein am Rhein, a medieval town of hand-painted façades, in the same Rhine valley, in six hours from Zurich. A car and guide just for you, with photos on us and a surprise at the end of the day.

The day

1. Hotel pick-up at 9am (the falls are less than an hour from Zurich)
2. The Rhine Falls, from the Schloss Laufen side: the platforms hanging over the drop, the panorama path, and an hour and a half without rushing
3. A boat, in season and subject to operation. There are different routes and the choice is made at the counter, on the day. The one that climbs the rock standing in the middle of the current has over a hundred steps up to the 30 m platform, and it is not for everyone: anyone who prefers takes a shorter route or stays at the viewpoints, and it is the same water either way
4. Stein am Rhein, twenty-five minutes away: the town hall square, the hand-painted façades, the half-timbered houses and the riverbank, with time for a coffee
5. Back to the hotel
